Hello! I’m Kaushi Geeganage, a Mechatronics Engineering student at UNSW (University of New South Wales Australia). My journey into teaching started with my own experience as a student; I remember sitting in tutoring sessions where a truly amazing teacher didn't just show me how to solve an equation, but sparked a genuine passion for the subject. That experience changed my academic life, and it is exactly what I aim to recreate for my students.
My Teaching Strategy : Concept First, Success Second
I believe that the biggest hurdle in Mathematics is "theory overload." Many students feel overwhelmed by complex formulas without understanding why they work. My teaching style is strictly concept and example-based.
I prioritize ensuring a student masters the underlying theory first. Once the "lightbulb moment" happens and the concept is clear, the practice becomes effortless and even enjoyable. I break down difficult topics into simple, relatable language that a child can easily grasp, moving away from a "theory-heavy" approach to a more intuitive, fun way of learning.
Why Choose My Classes?
Recent Exam Success: Having recently sat for the Edexcel IAL exams myself—achieving an A*—I have a fresh and intimate understanding of the current syllabus and exam patterns. I don't just teach the subject; I teach the "exam techniques" and "traps" that textbooks often miss.
Engineering Mindset: As a Mechatronics Engineering student, I bring a practical, problem-solving perspective to every lesson, showing students how math applies to the real world.
Tailored Learning: Whether it is individual or group sessions for Grades 5–11, I adapt my pace to the student’s specific needs and requests.
