About Me

Hello! I’m Amanda, a passionate and experienced teacher of ICT, Mathematics, Science and English for both the Local (Sri Lankan) O/L and London O/L (Edexcel / Cambridge) syllabuses. I’ve been teaching for 4 years and have helped many students build real confidence in the subjects they once found difficult.

My Teaching Experience

4 years teaching Local and London O/L students, in individual and small-group classes
Experience preparing students for both [local O/L papers] and [Edexcel / Cambridge] exams.
I am currently in my Final Year of my Bachelor's in Computer Science Degree and I am also occupied as an Associate Project Manager.

My Teaching StyleI believe every student can learn, they just need the right approach. My lessons are friendly, patient and clear:
Concepts first - I explain why something works, so students understand it rather than memorise it.
Step-by-step guidance - Maths and Science problems are broken into simple steps, and ICT concepts are explained with real examples.
English made practical - Essays, comprehension, grammar and speaking are taught through guided practice and personal feedback.
Lessons matched to the student - I adjust my pace and methods to each student’s level and learning style.

What Makes My Classes Effective
Exam-focused preparation: past papers, marking-scheme techniques and time-management strategies for both Local and London exams
Regular practice and feedback: homework, short tests and corrections so mistakes are fixed early
Progress tracking: parents and students know where they stand and what to improve
Confidence building: a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions
Clear notes and resources: simple summaries and practice material to revise from
Flexible options: [online / home visits / group / one-to-one], at times that suit your schedule
